A week of glorious sunshine for Marine Gardens Bowling Club with matches against Goring Manor Spitfires and East Preston.
Monday, Marine Gardens travelled to Field Place to play Goring Manor Spitfires in the Brodie Tray league, not a great trip out for Marine Gardens, going down on three rinks and winning one
Marine Gardens 61 – GM Spitfires 85. Shot difference 24.
Wednesday, saw Marine Gardens again on the road, this time to East Preston in the PC cup, again with the hosts taking the honours by three rinks to one.
Marine Gardens 57 - East Preston 95. Shot difference 38 .
Friday, was a Captain versus Vice-Captain match, preceded by the normal spider at these games, on offer was a bottle of whiskey for the bowler closest to the jack, this was won by Susan Lear, well done Susan. The outcome of the match, with the Captains team taking the win, by a small margin of 6 shots. Well done all.
Saturday, Marine Gardens played Goring Manor in a Stracey Shield league match, with Marine Gardens going down on three rinks and winning one, a good win by skip Mark Berriman and his team, 24 -14 however, the hosts took the honours.
