Marine Gardens are still searching for a break in the clouds. Our fixtures in this period ended in defeat at home to Storrington in the WSBL and Tarring Priory in the Brodie Tray League.
Defeat was snatched from the jaws of victory against Storrington with the home team being ahead for the greater part of the game. A double wick on the last bowl of the game played by skip Graham Poole 'earned' us 2 points (20 - 19). The overall score was 51 – 59 shots.
A similar story was played against Tarring Priory when Marine Gardens only won on 1 rink again. On this occasion, the winning margin was again 1 shot (16 - 15) but the overall score of 48 - 81shots reflected the formidable team fielded by Tarring Priory. Credit however to Bob Cole, Wendy Wilson, and skip Ivan Godsmark for keeping their nose in front.
The weather again played havoc with internal fixtures including the postponement of the Jubilee Cup until September 16th.
