Marine Gardens Bowling Club, report w/ending Sunday, 16th June 2024.
(June 16, 2024)All roads led to Goring this week with our only 2 matches being played away from home. Both were keenly contested. In the first match, a Brodie Tray event, the Marine Gardens team of Bob Cole, Wendy Wilson and skip Tim Baldwin fought back from being 16 - 10 down to win 16 - 25. This ensured that the rinks were shared 2 apiece but Goring Manor claimed the extra points with an overall 82 - 78 scoreline.
On the 2nd visit, this week for a Stracey Shield match Wendy Wilson again featured in the Marine Gardens top rink with Ken Leadbeater, Duncan Gayler, and skip Graeme Poole with a 23 - 15 victory. Once again this resulted in the rinks being shared at 2 apiece with Goring Manor just doing enough to claim the extra points with a 74 - 68 scoreline.
A 10-shot difference over 2 matches and 4 rinks for both teams made it a competitive encounter.
