Marine Gardens Bowling Club, report w/ending Sunday, 7th July 2024
(July 07, 2024)We experienced mixed fortunes in the opening matches in July. The Ladies lost both rinks in the GSM league match at Bognor.
The Gents, however. won their home match in the WSBL against ‘Bognor B’ 2 - 1 rinks, with a final shots score of 70 - 38. Top Rink honours went to Roger Parrish, Norman Deegan, James Albon, and Graeme Poole with an outstanding 37-8 victory.
Defeat followed victory in the Stracey Shield match when Lancing won 3 - 1 rinks.
Captain Jim Gray led his team Chris Wootton, Rob Hurst, and Pamela Chambers to gain consolation points.
The Ladies ended the week as it began with another defeat—this time at the hands of Crablands in a GSM league match.
A similar result was experienced at Southwick in the Brodie Tray League match where Marine Gardens lost 3 - 1 rinks, with a final shots score of 108 - 52. The ladies earned Top Rink honours, Tilly Henning, Susan Lay-Flurrie and Angela Neale, ably skipped by Tim Baldwin.
