News Update
Marine Gardens Bowling Club, report w/ending Sunday, 1st September 2024.
(September 01, 2024)Marine Garden bowlers experienced a quieter week following last week's Finals. Only 2 matches, both away, were played in warm sunshine.
Henfield were our first hosts, winning 3 – 2 rinks (80 - 69) in a friendly match. Top Rink honours were well-earned by Pat Hogan, Leon White and skip James Albon with a winning score of 25 - 8.
The second fixture was a Stracey Shield match against Maltravers and again Marine Gardens came off second best losing 3 – 1 rinks(86 - 78). Keith White, Helen Stirling, Alan Paterson and skip Duncan Gayler rode their luck in winning 33 - 15. This was an encouraging debut in a Stracey league match for Helen with hopefully more successes in the future.
Our touring team left on Friday for Paignton, Devon. We wish them well and look forward to hearing about their exploits, although what happens on tour may well stay on tour.
