Marine Gardens Bowling Club, report w/ending Sunday, 29th September 2024.
(September 29, 2024)That Was The Season That Was! 2024 has ended; ironically, the Final Drive was played in beautiful sunshine albeit on an unusually slow green.
All 6 rinks were in action and a most enjoyable afternoon was had by all the participants plus the many onlookers making the most of the late summer weather. The final Top Rink honours went to Betty Stevenson, Matt Ryan, Eric Hayward and Tim Baldwin.
The after-match refreshments were much appreciated. The afternoon's final event was the presentation by President Norman Deegan of the Noel Stevenson Memorial Cup to Nick Sinden in recognition of his contribution to the club as the most improved new member this season, a well-deserved award.
Unfortunately, there are no reports of stirring victories this week as our last remaining fixtures with Goring Manor and Tarring Priory fell afoul of the weather. Roll on the 2025 season!!
