Marine Gardens Bowling Club, report with w/ending Sunday, 20th. April 2025
(April 20, 2025)Happy days are here again! A warm sunny afternoon greeted players and spectators alike on Saturday for the opening of the 2025 bowling season at Marine Gardens.
President Norman Deegan and Captain Bob Cole then played us into what one hopes will be an enjoyable season for all concerned.
Roger Parrish won the first prize of the season by winning the opening Spider competition, his being the 'best' of the 50 bowls played.
Friendly matches were then played on all 6 pristine rinks with Top Rink honours going to Valerie Conway, Colin Markland, Jane McHugh, and skip Jim Gray, who finished strongly in the final 5 ends to run out 26 - 10 winners. 4 of the remaining matches finished with a difference of 5 or less. All very close.
